How do I unlock my US WII so that I can play games I purchased in China?

I had the vendor test the games in China before I bought them, and they all worked on their system, but when I got home to play them on my system, it doesn't recognize the discs..??

The only way currently to do this is by installing a mod chip. The systems are region-locked.
